Tired of political mailers and television ads? Well it’s over! Whether the results from this week’s election leave you with relief or disappointment, the best part is that we don’t have to look at, listen to or think about another political promotion for a while! Phew.
Now that that’s over with, it’s time to get into the holiday spirit! Boise is a great place to live all year but we think the holidays are an especially wonderful time to call The City of Trees our home base! The changing leaves and crisp air paint quite the picture no matter where in the valley you are observing from. Soon the lights and festive decoration will go up downtown and before long snow will start to fall. After an intense election season and with the craze that tends to surround the last months of the year, don’t forget to stop and look around at the beauty that surrounds us!

Float’s On!
Summer is here and another Big Jud’s favorite activity begins: The Boise River is open for floating! We know when we see our customers post-river-float walk in the door that they’ve worked up an appetite. Luckily our centralized location allows us the opportunity to provide sustenance for the outdoor recreationalists after a day of playing in the sun. We take on this hefty responsibility with open arms!
The weather was less than summery on Wednesday, the official opening day, but raft and tube rentals started at Barber Park and the shuttle began running for another year of Boise River fun. The sun is back out for the weekend so grab your tube, raft or obscure pool toy and head down to the river- we’ll meet you on the other side for a good meal when you’re done!
Out With The Old
If you’ve had a chance to make it down to our new building in the last month, you may have noticed something missing. After years of building up Big Juds as a local landmark, we have finally knocked down the old building to make room for the traffic coming to the new building. To some it may look like much needed additional parking space and to others, it may resonate the nostalgia and memories that came with seeing the old building set back on our lot. We had many of those mixed feelings too as we watched the demolition take place last month; relief, anticipation and excitement along with a little sentimental wistfulness. However, as we reminisce about all of the old memories we’ve had in that building, we remember that we have moved them in to the new building while making room for more. We wanted to share the demolition with you and thank everyone who enjoyed our quaint little building over the years.
Local Love
One of the things we pride ourselves in is being able to support our local businesses and community. The Treasure Valley is a great place to call home and headquarters and we are honored to be a part of a community whose values cultivate a healthy environment for small businesses as well. The movement to buy local has benefited us in growing our business and by using local ingredients, we have improved our product as well. From beef to bakeries and of course, potatoes we keep It local with high quality suppliers. See the whole list on our “buy local” page.
We are fortunate to receive ongoing support from our burger loving community and we are excited to be able to spread the love to our neighbors and fellow local businesses too. Join us in keeping our community strong and shop local whenever you can!
Thanks For a Great First Month, Boise!
If you haven’t made it out to the new building yet, come check us out! We are doing great and loving the positive response from our local burger biters as well as the fans who travel from afar. The grand opening (Nov 15) was a huge success with a full day of deals, giveaways and fun. We opened the doors to a line of loyal supporters with one of the first 50 receiving Free Big Jud’s for a Year! (one of our biggest giveaways ever) The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce joined us in the afternoon and then we finished the rest of the day and night with a party! Our own DJ followed a Live broadcast from the Eagle while Payette Brewing Company served beer out front. We had a blast and we are so thankful for everyone who came out to support us as well as all of our hungry supporters over the last month! What a great way to end 2013.
Same Great Burgers, New Bigger Building
After over 15 years of memories and great food, we have outgrown our old building and now we’re preparing to expand into our new, much larger building next month! Along with the new building comes a great new look, some new kitchen equipment, more seating and more parking! Same great burgers, new bigger building.
What are the plans with the old building, you ask? Knocking it down, we say! We are excited to be able to focus on the new digs and our loyal customers… and have some room to spread out while doing what we do best; serve Boise with the best burgers to rave about.
Please join us in celebrating our expansion at our Grand Opening!
November 15th, 2013 from 11am to 9pm at the new building
There will be specials and giveaways, a live radio remote, music, beer and more with festivities from open to close! Follow our Facebook page as we announce more details on the event and ways to win prizes and special offers!
Some say it is the end of an era and we are excited to say that it is the beginning of a new one packed with changes for the better!
